Results of the January Competition

The January Winner of the Power Retouche software is Darren Livingston of Virginia, USA.

Photo was taken at a military funeral at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington VA, USA.  I used a Canon 1D DSLR with a 70-200 zoom lens.

Judges’ comments: A great image. Perfect timing and placement. Good lighting emphasis. Very strong.

After an hour of trying to get a decent sunset I headed home and looked out the window and noticed a storm coming. I headed back down and got this shot.
It was shot at BULB with the shutter held open for 2 minutes at f4.5 and ISO100

They are part of a series – “truly scene” – which I’ve worked on recently (mostly in the middle of the night ….).  They pay a sort of modern-day photographic homage to the botanical artists of renown from the 18th and 19th centuries.  (Both entries here use some of the Power Retouche plug-ins.)  My renderings are in this instance are built from scanograms
