Beginning Digital Manipulation Workshops 2007 – Monday, November 12th, 2007

A 5-week workshop that begins with the basics of digital manipulation with Adobe Photoshop CS3.  This class is for those with little or no experience with Photoshop.

The workshop will not only include an intuitive understanding of the application’s interface but also a practical approach to designing and photo manipulation with the use of layers.

This class will provide an overview the new tools in CS3 with real world applications on how to effectively apply them.  Some of these will include color manipulation and image blending with the use of layers, understanding the importance of selections, understanding the Histogram through Levels and how to maintain proper detail throughout your image to insure proper output with 3rd party printers to name a few. Also, the student will learn how to correct old photos using the retouching tools.

Each session will meet every Monday from 7pm to 9pm for 5 weeks. Every class meeting will cover a different aspect of Photoshop CS3.

The Calibration & Printing class is now here and starts on Monday, October 1st at 7:00 pm.

Calibration & Printing: This is a 5 week workshop that will teach you not only how to calibrate your system so that your print matches what you see on your monitor but it will also deal with how to produce fine quality prints.

This workshop will to train you on:  

1) Calibrating your monitor, system and printer so that what you see on the monitor matches what the printer will produce.

2) Understanding profiles and how to use them

3) how to prepare your digital files to produce a fine print.  

4) how to correctly print color and B&W images

5) what to look for in a high quality paper.

6) what to look for in shadow, mid-tone and highlight detail.

7) Optimizing the Camera RAW file for optimum output.

8) Utilizing the power of Adjustment Layers to product an image for fine printing.

The Intermediate Photoshop workshop starts Tuesday, November 6th.

Details are as follows:

Intermediate Digital Manipulation Workshops 2007 – November 6th, 2007

A 5-week workshop that will focus on the special effects aspect of Photoshop CS3. It will go in depth into Smart layer modes, Smart Filters, creating paintings from photos, understanding how to create brushes to simulate textured paintings and much more.  An introduction into layer masks begins with this class as well.

The workshop will continue in the spirit of gaining an intuitive understanding of why and how Photoshop functions but also an practical approach to design and artistic creation.  Included will be an introduction to masking and its importance in image creation. Some of these will include color manipulation and image blending as well.

The student will have hands on experience with true to life tutorials.
