Panasonic releases 16GB SDHC Memory Card

New SD Memory Card Strengthens Panasonic’s Pro High Speed Lineup

Panasonic Australia will release a 16GB Pro High Speed SDHC Memory Card in November.

“This new card is the ideal partner for Panasonic’s new Digital SLR, the LUMIX DMC-L10,” said Alistair Robins, Category Marketing Manager, Mobile AV, Panasonic Australia.
 
With its high-capacity and rapid transfer speed, the 16GB card allows capture of around 3,000 still images in JPEG Fine mode using the DMC-L10. The 16GB high data storage capacity is also ideal for AVCHD High Definition recording.  When used with Panasonic’s latest High Definition camcorders (HDC-SD5/HDC-SX5), the card can record approximately 4 hours of High Definition video in AVCHD normal mode, and approximately 2 hours 40 minutes of 1920 x 1080i full High Definition video in AVCHD fine mode.
 
The 16GB model  offers a  data transfer speed of up to 20MB/s and further strengthens Panasonic’s  Pro High Speed lineup which now offers five models, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB card sizes, with the Class 6 Speed specification.
 
Panasonic remains committed to playing a leading role in the development of both SDHC compatible devices and SD Memory Cards. The company is planning to expand the usage and application of SDHC Memory Cards by increasing memory capacity and improving data transfer speeds.
