Sony enhances photographic experience with extensive lens range

Sony announces 21 lenses to support its new A100 dSLR digital camera

Press Release

Together with
the introduction of its new D-SLR camera the DSLR-A100 (A100), Sony Australia
is launching a line-up of 21 lenses consisting of Sony Lenses, Sony G Series High Performance Lenses and a Premium range of Carl Zeiss
Lenses. The lens range consists of wide angle, telephoto and specialised
lenses, which help the user to enhance the camera’s functionality
and flexibility resulting in exceptional photographs.

“When framing a shot, photographers require access to a wide range
of lenses, each providing a new set of imaging possibilities,” said
Marcus Cornish, Senior Product Manager for Digital Still Cameras at Sony
Australia. “Whether close up or far away, composing a portrait shot
or capturing a landscape, there is a lens to suit any occasion in this
substantial offering from Sony.”

All 21 lenses in this new Sony range are fully compatible with and designed
for the A100. Four of them have been specifically designed to maximise
the APS-C sized sensor featured in the A100. These shorter focal length
lenses can be identified by the “DT” title and can only be
used with APS-C sensor sized D-SLR cameras. These lenses deliver a compact
and lightweight solution whilst maintaining the highest image quality.

As well as Sony’s new A100 camera, the lenses are compatible with
D-SLR cameras featuring the Maxxum/Dynax lens mount system from Konica
Minolta.
