Pentax K20D Digital Camera Infrared Tests
Camera and Lens Tests

Here at DIMi we test cameras all the time. Since there are already so many great reviews of features, etc at sites like DPreview, we choose to be selective in the tests that we do in situations where we disagree with the findings elsewhere or where we feel we have something else to add. Hence the development of our detailed tests of digital camera infrared capabilities discussed elsewhere.
One thing I have decided to do on all cameras that come through here, apart from the infrared tests, is to do noise tests at each ISO setting the camera supports and to provide the RAW files that you can download to examine yourself. So after the link to the article you will find links to the RAW files. Depending on your platform and browser you may just need to click on them or right (or control) click and select save file to disk.
I am also doing some lens tests too. They appear at the bottom of this page.
Note- these test result images show as much noise as you ever would see. We go to great lengths to ensure that the software we use to prepare the images does not reduce noise or sharpen the image at all. This is not always easy, as virtually all RAW processing applies some sharpening and noise reduction, even at a very low level.

Comparision with the 400D/Rebel XTi
To make a direct comparision of the 350D and 400D I shot the same scenes at the same time using the same lens, tripod and same key exposure values.

Warning. Both sets of files use the same naming convention, so when you click on them, right click or control click on the Mac, and save then to disk in different directories or folders.
