Outstanding Art/Photo Website and Imagery Award

A longtime photographer, writer, publisher and educator, Wayne has edited and written for the leading Australian graphic design and photography magazines and written extensively for many US photography magazines. This column presents awards to websites and their imagery that I consider to be outstanding either from the imagery or from the website perspective. In the column I discuss what it is that has grabbed me about the work or the site, what impressed me most and what I learned from the work or the site. The aim from now on is to present one award a week or four a month, because there is a huge amount of great work out there and if I can help bring some attention to it, then that is good.
This award grew out of finding interesting art/photo sites for my visual arts and photography students to go look at. It occurred to me I might as well share them more widely.
Note - each article includes some lowres screengrabs of the site that were representative at the time the article was written. Please go visit the site for a proper impression and to see all the great work they feature.
