A first for Canon digital compact cameras, the innovative new PowerShot D10 waterproof camera ensures you have everything you need to capture the fun and adventure of the great outdoors. Photographers will enjoy the versatility of taking their camera absolutely everywhere. Even when swimming, snorkeling, surfing or skiing, the PowerShot D10 camera is the perfect companion.
“This exciting new addition to the PowerShot range has been custom built for flawless outdoor and underwater photography,” states Kimberley Langton, Brand Manager – Digital Still Cameras, Consumer Imaging Products Group, Canon Australia. “The PowerShot D10 packs in an impressive armory of features, including Waterproof to 10m deep, Freeze proof to -10°C and Shockproof to more than 1m, all in a fun, user-friendly design.”
Take your PowerShot to new extremes
Powerful photography in extreme environments is now possible with Canon’s new PowerShot D10, designed to shoot in deep waters, at close range and in below-freezing temperatures. Reinforced to withstand water pressure, the PowerShot D10 is waterproof to depths of up to 10 metres, enabling divers to enjoy the world of underwater photography with no need for a separate underwater housing. Carefully built to endure temperatures as low as -10° C, the PowerShot D10 is destined for the outdoor enthusiast, allowing skiers and snowboarders to capture their experiences with ease.
The PowerShot D10 features an exciting new Canon technology, Intelligent Auto. Intelligent Auto combines a new Scene Detection technology with Canon’s Face Detection, Noise Reduction and Motion Detection technologies all in the one Automatic mode to ensure that users can easily capture great shots every time.
The new Scene Detection technology makes capturing stunning shots easy by automatically detecting people, distance, brightness, colour and movement information to determine the shooting scene, such as Portrait, Night, Macro, Backlit or even Sunset. The technology then carries out the optimum image processing for that scene, ensuring superior quality images.
Packed with superior Canon technologies
Canon’s PowerShot D10 promises not to disappoint in the advanced technology stakes. High-quality shots are possible with the camera boasting a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor and a DiG!C 4 processor, which ensures sharp images and true-to-life colour. An impressive 3x Optical Zoom allows users to get close to the action, essential when capturing the vibrant marine world while on a snorkelling adventure. Furthermore, Canon’s Optical Image Stabilizer compensates for shaking and vibration when swimming, skiing or surfing, ensuring images captured on the move are blur-free.
Easy and enjoyable shooting
Canon has ensured that the PowerShot D10 is a breeze to operate in extreme environments. The resilient body of the PowerShot D10 has been moulded for easy grip and the larger buttons make for simple control and usability in adventure settings or even when wearing gloves. Canon’s remarkable PureColour II screen ensures users are not affected by glare and the large 2.5-inch LCD screen makes playback above and below the water’s surface crystal clear.
